About the speaker
Prof Alistair Duffy is Professor of Electromagnetics and Director of the Institute of Engineering Sciences at De Montfort University, Leicester UK. He is an Honorary Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. His research is predominantly in the fields of computational electromagnetics, electromagnetic measurement and data comparison –mostly in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility and signal andpower integrity. Over the years, his research responsibilities have seen him lead projects involving such topics as Lean Six-Sigma and communication networks. His teaching responsibilities over the nearly 30 years of his academic career have been even wider. He has published approximately 300 journal papers and has supervised approximately 20 PhD students to completion. He is a Director-Elect of the IEEE (with responsibility for IEEE Division IV), being in office in 2023 and 2024, having been President of the IEEE EMC Society in 2020 and 2021. Alistair is active in conference organization and standards development, having chaired the 2020 and 2021 International Symposiums on EMC + SIPI, and having working group officer roles in recent years in the development of IEEE Standards 370, 1597.1 and 1848. He is a Guest Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology and a 2022 Visiting Professor at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
